5th Website Anniversary

Time flies when you’re having fun.

Sharing is Caring

What originally started as a personal technical blog, has evolved into something that is (according to Google Analytics) used by hundreds of people every day.

I’m grateful to everyone who over those 5 years managed to find a few moments of their precious time to send me feedback. Wherever you are in this big wide world, thank you!

I would also like to thank Linux Professional Institute (www.lpi.org) and LinuxToday.com for featuring the blog on their websites.

What’s Next for Lisenet.com?

This website is still an ongoing pet project of mine, and I would like to keep it that way.

When I started the blog back in 2013, I was working as a systems administrator for a bespoke software company. I was exposed to different Cloud technologies and a lot of interesting IT stuff at the time. As I moved to more senior positions, the problems became more challenging, too. As a result, the frequency of blog posts declined, but the content improved and got more technical. That’s the direction that I plan to go to.

You should expect RHCA level articles over the next 12 months. I will be in a position to provide more information on this early next year.

  1. Hi Tomas,
I find your blog one of the best resources for the RHCE info, which I’ll be redoing in Jan 2019, after my first attempt was dashed by the exam crashing on me! So F*** annoying!
    Some feed back…
I like your clear and concise way of explaining how to get things working which is exactly on par with what you need to know as a technician/engineer. You’ve helped me get Foreman, HAProxy and a load of other great tools running virtually so I can get experience and see how they work.

Personally I prefer to read how to do things, videos, I find a bit hard to follow and practice at the same time. They give rise to a couple problems, to much scrubbing back and forth, I find it takes too much time and I tend to have forgotten everything after 15 mins!

If you started a Patreon account or put a PayPal donation link I’d gladly send you some kudos for the help your site has given me, and for all the hard work you’ve put into it.

    Big thanks
    Jason

    p.s. Have a great Christmas

    • Hey Jason,

Thanks for your kind words! With regards to technical learning, I agree, written instructions are much easier to follow compared to videos, simply because you have it all in front of your and don’t have to rewind anything.

I use Patreon to support artists that I like, however, I don’t have an account for this blog as I don’t feel that Patreon is right for what I create. However, if you want to support the blog, there is a Paypal donation link available, you can find it in the “About” section of the website.

Best of luck with the upcoming RHCE exam, I hope that you pass it this time. Thanks again!

  2. Congratulations Tomas, it takes a great deal of dedication to maintain a Linux blog! Your website helped me a lot, I switched from Nginx to HAProxy for load balancing, I learnt a lot of new things about server hardening that I was not aware of, I’m also preparing for my first Red Hat certificate. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
